Stadtlohn Medical Laboratory was established on the 15th April 1993 at Koforidua at the SSNIT Building Complex opposite the Legion Hall. The identity of the laboratory was conceived by Rev. Dr. Victor Nettey and his wife Mrs. Gertrude Nettey, when they arrived from Germany in the year 1984. As the lab functioned solely, Rev. Dr. Nettey was engaged as a Physician Specialist at the St. Joseph Hospital, where he worked for twenty years on contract from 1985 – 2005 when he retired from Government service. He then came in to setup the clinic portion of the establishment and was made ready and was blessed by the retired Anglican Archbishop Very Rev. Robert Okine on the 5th May 2005 for full consultation to begin.
Because of the amalgamation the clinic and the laboratory have used different names at different times
1. Stadtlohn Medical Laboratories
2. Bezaleel Clinic and Diagnostic Centre
3. Stadtlohn Bezaleel Clinic Ltd.
4. Stadtlohn Bezaleel Clinic
The first name Stadtlohn – is in honour of the generosity of the people in that German town, where Dr. Nettey and his family lived and worked.
The second name is from Exodus 31: 1- 3, in honour of the Lords servant Bezaleel, the main architect of the Convenant Box. This is the day the lord has made, so let us rejoice and be glad in it because thus far hath the Lord brought us.
